Maybe Lightning designed to never work

This is a bit crazy, but maybe all along Blockstream knew that Lightning would never work with peer to peer routing (alot of people have already said this).

However, perhaps they also think that centralized lightning hubs won’t pass regulatory scrutiny as well with KYC/AML. So what’s left? The only other thing is for everyone to buy LBTC tokens and transact on their network. That would be quite the play. The only way to actually use BTC is buy their LBTC.

I know it may be a bit far out, but perhaps Lightning has been a red herring all along to get the features they needed to make Liquid work.
